Aviation Africa 2017 takes place at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali, Rwanda on February 22-23, 2017.  The sold-out conference and exhibition will be one of Africa’s largest Aviation events offering the opportunity for the international aerospace industry to network with Africa.

Senior Rwandan Ministers accompanied by local and regional VIPs from Africa and the aviation industry including Civil Aviation Authorities and CEOs from Airlines will attend the conference of 550 delegates from 55 countries and tour the exhibition hall featuring 53 companies from around the world.

Attendees will also be able to tour aircraft at Kigali airport where there will be a Gulfstream G280 on display.

A spokesperson from the Rwandan Government said: “It is a great honour for Rwanda to host the first Aviation Africa event.  The meeting will be an opportunity for the Rwanda aviation to showcase the achievements recorded for the past few years, and the industry’s vision.”

For the past decade, Rwanda has been expanding its aviation industry with the government making renewed commitment to support the sector.  The small central African nation has injected 19 million U.S. dollars to upgrade and expand Kigali International Airport and embarked on construction of Bugesera Airport at a cost of 818 million U.S. dollars.

Aviation Africa will host over 120 airline delegates from 50 airlines mainly from Africa including RwandAir, TAAG Angola, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, Congo Airways, ASKY Airlines and Air Djibouti.  The event will welcome Director Generals from African Civil Aviation Authorities including Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Kenya and Honourable Ministers including Hon. Minister of Aviation of Ghana, Hon. Minister of Transport & Logistics of Gabon and Hon. Minister of Transport, Urban Mobility & Road Safety of Burkina Faso.

The two day conference will address key challenges and opportunities for the growth of the African aviation industry and topics include: Civil aviation and liberalisation, China-Africa regional aviation co-operation, the Cape Town convention, training and human resources and the challenges and opportunities for Africa’s airports.  The conference will discuss key sectors of MRO, Business Aviation, Defence, Regional and Commercial aviation and will include 70 speakers and panelists.
